Client and Partner Reliability Engineer

We’re looking for a Client and Partner Reliability Engineer to join our Client Services team in support of 24x7 enterprise platform operations for our clients and partners.  As part of the Client CTO office, the CPRE will work with the CTO, client service engineers, and solutions development to design and build out a robust and repeatable reliability framework for the Apprenda platform.  This includes monitoring, logging, and level one support functions.  The CPRE is 80% engineer and 20% sys admin, looking to automate as much as possible in a scalable way.

Additionally, as a member of the CTO office, the SRE will interface with Apprenda strategic partners to enable their Apprenda-focused practices.  This will include custom engineering solutions and delivery.  The ideal person for this role is highly technical while comfortable being client facing and able to build strong professional relationships.

The CPRE will be in our Troy, NY or NYC office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering team(s) to optimize and ensure stability of our platform and client installations
  • Build out and maintain monitoring stack for our enterprise platform
  • Design and develop automation for standard triage and resolution routines of server, middleware, database, and networking issues
  • 1st level response for production issues
  • Support and custom development for collaborative partner projects

Qualifications

  • BS Computer Science or related technical field experience including coding
  • 3-5 years of experience with Linux system administration
  • 1-3 years of experience with monitoring and logging tools and APIs (Nagios, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.)
  • Experience with OSS, contributions a plus
  • Practical experience with NodeJs, Go, Java, Python, Ruby (.NET a plus)
  • Practical experience with containers, Docker, and Kubernetes a plus
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure such as Bluemix, AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience with Windows system administration a plus

 

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience. Base plus performance bonus plus equity plus benefits.
