DevOps Engineer

Apprenda is looking for an innovative and adaptable DevOps Engineer to take our infrastructure, build process, and deployments to a new level. In this role, you will be challenged to craft unique and scalable implementations of the Apprenda platform and related services across a wide variety of public and private infrastructure. You will work across teams to design and implement solutions that impact to our customers, both internal and external.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across a variety of environments that include Linux and Windows servers, as well as across our entire stack of technologies from software development to CI/CD automation to Cloud Infrastructure. You will be expected to tackle unique and diverse challenges at all levels of our build and deployment process, and you’ll be encouraged and mentored to deliver solutions to complex issues around distributed systems. Our culture is fast-paced and dynamic, and you will need to be comfortable wearing different hats in order to deliver on business goals.

We are specifically looking for a candidate with proven experience in the following technologies and areas of interest:

  • C#, Scala, Java and/or Go
  • IT automation and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, etc.)
  • Automated deployment – in the cloud, at the local datacenter, and on local machines
  • Windows Server, MS SQL, ADFS, IIS, Windows AD
  • Linux (CentOS, RHEL)
  • Virtualization Hypervisors/Infrastructure (VMWare, OpenStack, Hyper-V)
  • Network virtualization
  • AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  • Build engineering – TeamCity, MSBuild, Cake, Gradle, NuGet

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in software development
  • 3+ years experience in Windows/Linux Server administration preferred
  • BS or BA in computer science or related field
  • Familiarity with RDBMS such as Oracle or MSSQL
  • Knowledge of source control tools such as git or Mercurial
  • Ability to express complex ideas verbally and in writing

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience.  Base plus performance bonus plus equity plus benefits.
